In 1884, a widow, fueled by the grief of losing her husband and infant daughter, purchased a small farmhouse on 45 acres of land in California. Over the next several decades, she continued to add on to the home, creating a huge, bizarre, 24,000 square foot mansion with over 160 rooms. The widow’s name was Sarah Winchester.. And this is the story of Winchester Mystery House.
